The South-West is home to some of the most renowned wine-regions in the world.  Just a few miles away you can sample Monbazilliac, Percharmant, Duras and Bergerac wines and an easy day-trip will take you to St Emilion, Pomeral and the Bordeaux region.

Dordogne River

Issigeac is located less than 18 km from the famous Dordogne River, which you can visit by driving or walking through picturesque villages along the banks, or , for the more adventurous, book a kayaking tour.

There are literally dozens of  fabulous restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes in the village and surrounding areas. Most are within a few minutes walk. Enjoy the fantastic regional cuisine in a variety of settings.

Duck

Markets

The Issigeac Sunday market is famed throughout the region and attracts up to 10 000 visitors during the high season. It is the quintessential French day market selling local food and handicrafts, as well as the main social event of the week, with live music and shows. In fact, you can visit a market any day of the week by travelling to the surrounding towns and villages.

Walks and cycles

Starting right in front of our gate is a huge network of marked hiking and walking trails for exploring the beautiful countryside surrounding the village. We also have some bicycles available for rental-please inquire about availability when booking.
